The Daiquiri originates from Cuba. It’s a family of rum-based cocktails built around rum, citrus juice and sugar syrup. It’s a delicious balance between ‘sweet and sour’ with a clear yet not intense flavour of rum.

What you’ll need…

  • 50ml Tequila
  • 25ml LOS CAFETEROS coffee liqueur
  • 25ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
  • Blood Orange Soda to top up (any soda will do)
  • 1 Pink (or red) Grapefruit for the juice and garnish

Glassware – Highball glass

How you build it…

  1. Cut your grapefruit in half. Squeeze one half for the juice and set aside the other half for the half wheel garnish.
  2. Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the Tequila, LOS CAFETEROS coffee liqueur and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
  3. Put the lid on the cocktail shaker and give it a good shake for 10 seconds (until the outside becomes frosty).
  4. Now fill a highball glass with ice and strain the contents of cocktail shaker over the ice.
  5. Finish by garnishing with a half wheel of ‘Pink Grapefruit’ and drink via a paper straw.
