The Daiquiri originates from Cuba. It’s a family of rum-based cocktails built around rum, citrus juice and sugar syrup. It’s a delicious balance between ‘sweet and sour’ with a clear yet not intense flavour of rum.
What you’ll need…
- 50ml Tequila
- 25ml LOS CAFETEROS coffee liqueur
- 25ml Pink Grapefruit Juice
- Blood Orange Soda to top up (any soda will do)
- 1 Pink (or red) Grapefruit for the juice and garnish
Glassware – Highball glass
How you build it…
- Cut your grapefruit in half. Squeeze one half for the juice and set aside the other half for the half wheel garnish.
- Half fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the Tequila, LOS CAFETEROS coffee liqueur and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
- Put the lid on the cocktail shaker and give it a good shake for 10 seconds (until the outside becomes frosty).
- Now fill a highball glass with ice and strain the contents of cocktail shaker over the ice.
- Finish by garnishing with a half wheel of ‘Pink Grapefruit’ and drink via a paper straw.
