This is the gin-based variant to the original Vodka and Cranberry Cosmopolitan cocktail. It’s beautifully balanced – not overly sweet and not too tart!
What you’ll need…
- 50ml Hill Billy Red Gin
- 50ml Lemon Sour Mix
- 15ml Cointreau
- 9 Raspberries
How you build it…
- Muddle 6 raspberries in a cocktail shaker (i.e. mash them to form a paste).
- Now, add some ice followed by the Dry Gin, Lemon Sour Mix and Cointreau.
- Shake for a good 10 seconds, then double strain into a chilled coupe glass.
- Finish by garnishing with three raspberries
How to make the Lemon Sour Mix
- Start by making some simple syrup. It’s dead easy…
- Add equal volumes of water to sugar in a saucepan (i.e., a cup of water and a cup of sugar) and bring to the boil stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and simmer for a couple of minutes. Set aside to cool.
- Squeeze a lemon to get 25ml of lemon juice and add that to 25ml of your simple syrup and that will give you your 50ml of Lemon Sour Mix
That’s it… delicious!
